DESCRIPTION:Konturen und Flächen in Nicole Ahlands Fotografien sind meist nur schemenhaft sichtbar\, vieles verschwimmt und bleibt geheimnisvoll. Einige wirken zart und durchscheinend\, andere erscheinen als intensive abstrakte Farbflächen oder entwickeln einen starken Sog\, eine enorme Tiefe. Und stets sind es Innenräume\, die Nicole Ahland fotografiert. Dabei rückt sie das Licht\, ein irreal erscheinendes Licht\, in den Mittelpunkt\, verleiht dem Licht in ihren Bildern Substanz. \nNicht an der reinen Abbildung des Raumes ist Nicole Ahland interessiert\, sondern an der Interaktion von Licht\, Raum und Zeit. Sie arbeitet rein analog\, erschafft mit den klassischen Mitteln der Fotografie\, Transparenzen\, Überlagerungen und Unschärfen\, Bilder voll sinnlicher Energie und meditativer Stille. Ihre Fotografien wirken sehr malerisch\, lösen Empfindungen aus\, ziehen den Betrachter in ihren Bann. \nIn general\, the contours and surfaces in Nicole Ahland’s photographs are visible only dimly\, much is blurred and remains mysterious. Some seem delicate and translucent\, others appear as intense\, abstract areas of colour or develop a fierce pull\, a tremendous depth. And the subject of Nicole Ahland’s photographs is always an interior. Here\, she shifts the focus onto light\, an apparently unreal light\, lending substance to this light in her images.\nNicole Ahland is not interested in the mere reproduction of a space but in the interactions of light\, space and time. She works in a purely analogue manner\, using the classical means of photography to create transparency\, overlapping and a lack of definition\, images filled with sensual energy and meditative stillness. The effect of her photographs is a very painterly one; they trigger emotions\, drawing the viewer under their spell. \n
