Naked Flames. HilbertRaum.

In a world where everything flows and nothing is still, Naked Flames presents a dialogue of disciplines that captures its own version of this continuity.

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus tells us… ”An everlasting fire, kindling in measures and going out in measures”. In a much changing world… fire, like water, is an element that is constantly in flux. In fact Heraclitus talks of fire as the physical incarnation of the abstract notion of a universe with constantly changing elements.

This exhibition brings together the work of seven international artists based in both Berlin and London.

Laid Bare, Naked Flames showcases various forms of “the figuration of ideas”, combining sculpture, painting, video and photography. The work in is lit up by its own sense of flux and order combined and also reveals its own stories and personal narratives.

It is the second project between HilbertRaum (Berlin) and ASC Gallery (London). The collaborative project titled “asc hilbert” looks to connect and exhibit artists affiliated with both organisations creating authentic links and threads and new potentials in both venues.
